About Long Monsters
On Saturday 17 October 2026, LTC Stages Academy’s Zombie Film Lab (Longmont Theatre Company) took over Longmont Public Media. It sold out. Young actors in candy-coloured zombie makeup spent the afternoon learning how a film really gets made: slates and claps, wides and close-ups, “quiet on set!”, and a lot of shuffling.
Breaking news… reports are coming in tonight from around the world of a strange new virus affecting children this Halloween… those who consume the most may experience the most disturbing symptom of all. They may turn into little monsters.
The story
A TV news anchor (Erica) reads the breaking news, nibbles the candy on her desk, and dozes off. She wakes up in black and white. The studio is dark, and from the hallway to the control room, the podcast booth and the green screen, the zombie kids shuffle after her, a little faster each time, until she bursts out the door into the park and runs.
